- 4 salted egg yolks
- 80 grams Planta margarine
- 80 grams icing sugar
- 50 grams evaporated milk
- 30 grams milk powder
- 30 grams custard powder
- 400 grams cake flour
- 60 grams sugar
- 5 grams baking powder
- 5 grams instant yeast
- 230 ml milk
- 20 grams Planta margarine
- Add flour, sugar and salt to a bowl and mix.
- Add the grated carrots and mix until fully combined.
- Pour warm water and knead for 3 - 4 mins until it forms into a dough.
- Add the Planta Margarine and knead again for 5 - 6 mins.
- Let the dough rest for 20 - 30 mins covered with a cloth.
- Divide the dough into 4 equals parts and then roll each one into a large circle.
- Spread 2 tablespoons Planta Margarine on the dough and then use a knife to cut the dough into 2 semi circles.
- Roll each half to form a cone and then press it down to form a rough ball. Cover the rest of the dough as you roll the chapati’s.
- Sprinkle flour on each ball of dough and then roll it / flatten it out to about ¼ inch thickness with a rolling pin.
Cooking the chapati
- Place it on a hot pan and let it cook for 30 - 45 secs. Flip it over and spread ½ tablespoon Planta Margarine over it. Flip again and press it down as you spread another ½ tablespoon Planta Margarine over it. Flip again and cook for another 30 - 45 secs.
- Repeat with the rest and keep the chapati’s covered as you cook them to keep them soft.
