For the filling
- 2 cups chicken boiled and shredded
- 2 tablespoons Planta margarine
- 1 medium onion
- 1 carrot chopped
- 2 celery sticks finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- salt
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup milk
For the pastry
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup Planta margarine
- 5 to 6 tablespoons ice water
- 1 egg whisked
- In a large mixing bowl, add milk, egg, sugar, salt yeast and mix well.
- Add in sifted bread flour and mix until dough starts to form. Once dough is formed, add 40g of Planta Margarine, coat dough evenly with margarine.
- Once done, transfer dough onto a work surface and knead for about 10 minutes until dough is smooth and elastic.
- Grease a bowl with melted Planta Margarine. Add dough into the bowl. Cover and let it proof for 1 hour.
- Mould dough into shape of tin and transfer to margarine greased baking tin. Cover and let it proof for another 1 hour.
- Coat top with egg wash and bake in a 180C for about 25-30 minutes.
- Remove bread from the oven and let it rest. Cut bread into half and spread with mayonnaise and top with meat floss. Spread mayonnaise on the top of the bread.
- Top off with meat floss and garnish with chopped spring onion.
